Well, everything has a beginning—and the best time to start is now.
To be honest, there’s no grand reason for starting this blog. I’m not convinced I have anything all that interesting to say or any epic stories to tell. That’s probably just the humility I was raised with. I grew up learning to work hard, be respectful, and keep my head down. If you didn’t have something nice to say, you kept quiet. You respected everyone and stayed considerate.
But here I am—writing.
Why? Maybe because I want something to live in the ether. Something that sticks around longer than I will. Like a book, except now it floats in the digital realm instead of sitting on a shelf.
I’m writing this for my kids. I’m writing this for myself, to capture the memories before they slip too far into the rearview. And I’m writing for anyone else out there bored enough to stumble across this corner of the internet and maybe learn something about guitars, electronics, stages, and the madness of world travel.
Some of these posts will be rants—because every gig tech has a few of those. Others will be shoutouts to local support or the unsung heroes behind the scenes. But mostly, this is a place to highlight guitar repair and what it takes to survive a gig as a tech.
Think of this as a guitar tech’s survival guide to world stages, busted gear, and the glorious chaos of the loading dock.
Let’s see where this thing goes.
